Text Message (SMS) Services >> FAQQ. Which networks are supported? A. Currently, we can only guarantee service to the five major UK mobile networks; 02, Orange, 3, T-Mobile and Vodafone. 'Virtual' networks are supported too, for example Virgin, which use the T-Mobile network etc. Many foreign networks are supported too, but we cannot guarantee service to them. We'd suggest using our text message demonstration to send a text message to the foreign network and check it's delivered at the other end before relying on the service.Q. Can I sent text messages to BT landline phones? A. Unfortunately, this isn't a service we can provide at present. We hope to allow this in the near future.Q. How fast is the service? A. Generally text messages are submitted to the service provider within 10 seconds or so, and the message will be delivered to the recipients phone within a minute. This is subject to how busy the recipients network is, if their phone is turned on and in coverage, and has space available to receive the text message.Q. How are the text messages delivered? A. Once you've logged in and sent your message, our servers validate then process your request. If you account is in good standing, your text message(s) are submitted directly to the SMSC on the recipients network via a fast IP connection. This method provides a very high uptime and a very high success rate for delivering messages.Q. Will the recipient be able to reply to my text message? A. On standard accounts, the Sender ID will match exactly that of your mobile phone number, so whoever you send a text message to can reply using the Reply functionality on their phone and their response will be sent straight to your mobile.Q. Do you add advertisements to outbound text messages? A. No, and we never will with the charged for service. At some point in the future we may add a free service funded by adding a small advert to the end of any outbound messages.Q. Will my text messages always arrive at their destination? A. In the vast majority of cases, yes. However, no text message is guaranteed to arrive, even when sending from a mobile phone.Q. Will I be charged if messages don't arrive? A. You won't be charged by us if we can't deliver your message to the service provider. (Your message will be shown as 'Undelivered' in your Text Message History). However, once your message has left us, there are other points at which it can fail which are beyond our control. Links with ISP's, service providers and other network providers cannot be guaranteed.Q. What happens with my personal details? A. Your personal details are used only by pctrends.com, and won't ever be sold or passed on to any other party. We will not abuse your email address, postal address, phone number or any other contact method to send you any form of advertising unless you authorise us to. |
